KBR, the Royal Library of Belgium, is the national scientific library. It collects all Belgian publications and preserves, manages and studies an extensive cultural and historical heritage. It provides the public with access to information, facilitates research and offers a broad cultural experience.

The world is changing quickly. Technology brings new possibilities every day, which means that users’ needs and practices are constantly changing. Everything is moving fast. We are racing against time.

KBR is also changing. It intends to contribute to the democratic foundations of an increasingly digital society, by providing citizens with reliable and sustainable information.

KBR puts the user – and the way he or she processes information – at the centre of its activities. It integrates new technologies and automation into its entire operation. As a national library, it is pre-eminently a network organisation.
